Redefine & Refine our process
Located less than 100 feet from the Atlantic Ocean, the studio’s work is deeply informed by the surrounding coastal environment.
The studio combines architectural design with a painterly approach, using seascape oil paintings and the ocean’s daily presence as inspiration for light, atmosphere, and spatial exploration. Our design process begins with hand sketches and develops through physical models and virtual 3D studies.
Light refraction and reflection are central to our work, including the study of how light behaves beneath the ocean surface at varying depths and conditions, and how it returns through the atmosphere to the viewer. These natural phenomena guide contrast, veils, materiality, and surface articulation, allowing light to be naturally projected onto the surfaces of our projects.
